Clearing Your Record

With more companies requiring background checks during the hiring process, cleaning up a past criminal record has become more essential than ever.  California Penal Code Section 1203.4 allows individuals who have satisfactorily completed their Probation to Petition the Court to have their Plea withdrawn, their Conviction set aside, and their case dismissed.  

Once the Motion for Expungement has been granted, with a few important exceptions, an individual may legally answer that they do not have any Convictions on their record, including on most job applications.

Whether it is to improve your hire-ability, protect your privacy, or simply to clean up a past mistake, the Expungement process is a right given to California citizens which allows them to essentially start over with a clean slate.
